Throughout 2014 Entatech further boosted its product portfolio, signing distribution agreements with 3Q, Cooler Master, iWALK, EMTEC and Techlink. Entatech also gained UK exclusivity for brands Mionix, OTONE and Xilence.
Entatech also began the start of their B2B portfolio following agreements with Philips Dictation, OKI, Nuance and Double-Take.
In March 2014 Entatech were awarded Components Distributor of the Year and Distributor of the Year at the PCR Awards 2014 in London. Jon Atherton, Entatech Director, was also awarded the Special Recognition Award for his dedication to Entatech over the past 22 years.
In May 2014 Entatech moved to a new dedicated sales office within their HQ in Telford. This new space enables the Sales, Purchasing, Management and Marketing departments to work more closely together, working towards a more efficient taskforce.
New Southern Office
Due to vast expansion over the past 12 months, Entatech’s South based sales team moved to a new location in Chessington in July 2014. This move not only nurtures the natural growth of this team, which specialises in Fujitsu server, Microsoft licencing and B2B sales, but it also opens up fantastic opportunities for further recruitment due to its location.
In 2013 Entatech continued to broaden their business, with the inclusion of new brands, products and customers, whilst also strengthening their business relationship with their established vendors. 2013 has seen the addition of vendors Fronnar, BeeWi, Func and Yale, to name but a few and the increase of Entatech’s vendor portfolio is expected to continue throughout 2013.
2013 saw the return of Entatech’s popular event, EntaLive, which has established itself as a hub for both networking and showcasing the latest innovations and products to hit our industry. The first event, held in March, took place at the impressive Microsoft Campus in Reading, supported by Microsoft, Fujitsu and Intel.
March 2013 also saw Entatech receiving industry recognition at the PCR Awards, during which they won the categories for Software Distributor of the Year and Marketing & PR.
Synaxon Distributor of the Year
In the summer of 2013 Entatech won the Synaxon Distributor of the Year award – an accolade that is nominated by members of the buying group. June 2013 also saw the launch of Entatech’s Southern sales office in Leatherhead, which specialises in Fujitsu servers and Microsoft licencing.
Growing Vendor Additions
During 2012 Entatech added a number of key vendors to its portfolio including Digium, ZOTAC, Fujitsu and Vibe Audio. This resulted in Entatech boasting a portfolio of over 9500 products from over 75 vendors. Entatech also re-launched its popular EntaLive event, showcasing its latest products, hosting 4 events across the UK which were headlined by Microsoft and supported by Fujitsu, Intel, Kaspersky, Digium, Swann and Madcatz.
Entatech received awards recognition, obtaining a record breaking three PCR awards in the categories of Marketing & PR, Distributor of the Year and Gaming Distributor. A member of the Entatech account management team was also recognised with a prestigious Network Group award, Account Manager of the Year.
PCR Award Winners
Enta Technologies was awarded the title of ‘Sales Team of the Year’ in the PCR awards for the fourth consecutive year.
Dragon Boat Race
In June Enta Technologies went head to head with sister company, Entanet head in a charity dragon boat race in aid of Shropshire based charity, Severn Hospice. The Enta Technologies team pipped Entanet to the post and the companies collectively rose over £2000 for the worthy local cause.
Enta Technologies introduced two new product divisions, namely Systems, offering Panasonic, Acer and Gateway servers, notebooks, interactive whiteboards and multifunction printers; and a new retail division that supports Enta Technologies’s off the shelf products for retail customers. Enta Technologies also signed a number of new distribution agreements with vendors including Wasp Barcode Technology, iStorage, Fractal Design, MSI, PC Tools, Gigazone and iGO and established new partnerships with buying groups XPD and Oii.
Celebrating 20 Years
2010 saw Enta Technologies celebrate its 20th year in business, an impressive achievement considering the company began in founder, Jason Tsai’s garage, from which he sold computer components. 20 years on, Entagroup comprises of three leading IT and communications companies‚ employs over 175 people and has a combined turnover of over £200million.
Award Winning Finalists
In January 2010 Enta Technologies was announced as a finalist in the PC Retail Awards. Enta Technologies went on to win the awards for Distributor – Sales Team and Distributor of the Year. Enta Technologies was also named as a finalist in a total of five categories in the Microscope Aces and was named as a finalist in the CRN Channel Awards category of Networking Distributor of the Year.
New Office Space
In March 2008 Enta Technologies moved into a new purpose built office within their existing Telford HQ building. The new unified office houses the commercial and operational departments of Enta Technologies ‚ Entanet and EntaMedia.
Enta Technologies received nominations for Best Distributor Channel Program in the Channel Network Awards and Networking Distributor of the Year and Software Distributor of the Year in the CRN Channel Awards.
Launch of Entanet
In response to growth in the market for security and surveillance hardware‚ Enta Technologies launched Enta Security‚ a specialist division which focuses specifically on CCTV equipment.
Distributor of the Year
Enta Technologies received recognition as Distributor of the Year – Systems and Components at the CRN Awards. Enta Technologies also joined the Professional Computing Association (PCA‚ the trade body for the PC industry, for which Jon Atherton‚ Enta Technologies Vice President‚ was appointed as a PCA Director.
Microsoft Distributor of the Year
Enta Technologies won Microsoft Distributor of the Year and Specialist Distributor of the Year at the Computer Trade Show (CTS) Awards.
Launch of Entamedia
Following the launch of Entaonline.com‚ founder Jason Tsai realised the need for an internal design company to cater for the needs of its sister companies and manage Entagroup’s corporate identity. Originally a website design team within sister company, Entanet International‚ Entamedia was officially established in 2003.
Entamedia soon expanded its offering to also cater for external clients, providing content management systems‚ e-commerce interfaces and marketing and design support.
Launch of Entaonline.com
Enta Technologies launched a brand new e-commerce facility, Entaonline.com, following extensive development by their internal team of web designers, programmers and product development specialists. Entaonline.com is an innovative and effective way of supporting Enta’s reseller channel, enabling them to source products, obtain product and pricing information, and manage their account and orders.
Opening Ceremony for Pagoda
An official opening ceremony for the new purpose-built pagoda was hosted by Jason Tsai and co–hosted by the Taiwanese Ambassador‚ Mr Jien You–Sin. The ceremony was attended by over 600 British and Taiwanese delegates including 500 Taiwanese business associates from around the world. The ceremony also incorporated a giant marquee that accommodated both the guests and a dedicated exhibition of Taiwanese art and culture.
Enta Technologies was appointed one of only five authorised distributors of Microsoft products within the UK.
Recognition for Entrepreneurship
Jason and Ruth Tsai received a special award from the President of Taiwan‚ Lee Den–Huei‚ in recognition of the overseas entrepreneurship they demonstrated.
Pagoda Construction Started
Enta Technologies grew rapidly and Jason soon realised that their current unit offices in Hortonwood‚ where they had been located since 1991‚ were no longer sufficient. In 1995 work was completed on a new purpose built pagoda located in Stafford Park‚ Telford. The pagoda was designed by Jason’s wife Ruth and is built using genuine Taiwanese and Chinese materials including specially crafted roof tiles from Shanghai. The unique building cost £5million to construct and is surrounded by beautiful gardens with calming waterfalls‚ ornate bridges and over 200 Koi carp.
Enta Technologies Opened
Taiwanese businessman Jason Tsai left his position as UK director of marketing at Tatung to start up his own company‚ Enta Technologies. During the hard hitting recession of the early 90’s Jason spotted an opportunity in the UK market for affordable computer components and began by distributing computer casings from his garage in Bridgnorth. “In times of recession people think cheap. They didn’t want to buy expensive IBM computers. We were able to supply them with much cheaper models from Taiwan and that is the reason we were so successful so quickly.”
